The Ancient Enigma wire strung harp made of sassafras wood.

25 red and yellow brass strings from C below middle C to high F.

Sassafras wood is incidental. The scrawny little shrubs whose roots are harvested for sassafras tea will, when left alone, sometimes grow to massive trees many feet around. The boards from which these harp parts were cut were 16″ quarter sawn planks. The tree must have been massive.

Every once in a while it will wander on the local market from some logger or sawyer. And I have two of the planks from this load I am reserving for the gods only know what. Thus this is the last harp made of sassafras wood until the wood spirits see fit to make more available.
