Here is the Ancient Celtic. Here it is “in the white” , that is, with the raw wood scraped down the final dusty surface. Then with some mineral spirits applied to clean away the dust, show how the wood grain will look when an oil finish is applied, and mainly to reveal any peccadilloes of glue spots or abrasions that have been overlooked.

It is the largest wire strung harp I care to make at this time. It will have 28 red and yellow brass strings tuned from C below middle C up 4 octaves to high F#.

This harp is made possible by Steve Leonard who milled the magnificent cherry wood used. This harp requires broad, clear boards and some of them resawn to 2/4. The last wood I scored from Steve has yielded three of these largest harps plus a number of the smaller Ancient Enigma and Ancient Muse harps.

I need more wood Steve!
